About Anthony Lees

About

I am a primary educator from Devon, UK and currently deputy head of a large primary school, within a multi academy trust. I lead on EdTech and computing for the trust, as well as music, and on the primary branch of the regional NCCE Computing Hub, CAS group and EdTech Demonstrator School.  I am very lucky.

Over the years, I have been a primary class teacher, specialist teacher, whole class instrument teacher, course facilitator, musician and trainer.

In my own time I like to create, write, film courses and YouTube videos and make things. From the areas of this site, you can contact me for any of my professional roles, and also to follow or engage in any of my personal projects as well.

Why?

‘Start With Why’ by Simon Sinek is a great read, and one of my top ten books for developing your career and life direction, and has really helped me identify my core beliefs and how they can be achieved. His book helps guide you from your ‘why‘, to your ‘how‘ and finally to the ‘what‘. Here’s mine:

I strongly believe in the power of technology to democratise education, and in so doing provide opportunities for learners of all ages beyond their immediate situations.

To do this, I focus on training, to support the teachers of the future whilst also helping existing teachers  embrace new tools, pedagogies and thinking. I love to create.

I am currently a deputy head in a teaching school in the south west of the UK. Around this I maintain a range of projects that also further the above purpose, which you can find detailed on this, my catch-all site.
